It is the day after Thanksgiving Day in the United States and is regarded as the start of the Christmas shopping season there.
Local retailers are jumping on the bandwagon of this American tradition, holding Black Friday sales today, and offering generous discounts and deals.
This is the second year of Black Friday promotion for department store Robinsons and furniture and electronics retailer Courts. And just look at the queue outside Robinsons Heeren this morning:
