And its media competitor can't even film a video properly.

Channel NewsAsia (CNA) has scored possibly a world's first with its reporting of the shooting incident along Orange Grove Road.

With the public and the media hungry for more details about the incident, CNA's Pichayada Promchertchoo resourcefully stepped forward to do so.

Using the mundane road closure image as her backdrop, the international digital reporter spiced up the coverage with possibly the world's first selfie-reporting:

"I am at Anderson Road leading to the Shangri-La hotel. Early on this morning, there was one person shot dead and two were detained. The incident took place in this vicinity. At the moment, people are not allowed to enter the area apart from delegates who are attending the ongoing Asian Summit Security (editor's note: It's Asian Security Summit), the Shangri-La Dialogue 14th edition. Public who come through this area will be stopped right here and taxi cabs cannot go in either. Only authorised vehicles can go through."

And she probably did this in one take without a script. #respect

One just has to compare how its competitor - Singapore Press Holdings' Straits Times - covered the incident online.
