Chinese tabloid Lianhe Wanbao reported today (May 28, 2015) that Jover Chew, he of expensive in-house warranties, has been jobless for the past five months and is depending on his mother for his three daily meals.

His mother told the reporter that she did not want Chew, 33, to help out at her ngoh hiang stall or look for a job until the whole incident blows over.

She added that if he intends to start a business in the future, he shouldn't sell mobile phones any more.

And it seems like it's all over between Jover and his wife.

The 32-year-old woman said that they are separated and told Wanbao: "It's none of my business. That's his own problem."

She added that she has her own life now and that her new partner doesn't like that she gets embroiled in the saga again.

Yesterday, Jover Chew was arrested with four other men aged 31 and 38 years old for a series of cheating cases at Sim Lim Square.

The police said several reports were lodged against Mobile Air in 2014 for dishonest sales practices like coercing customers into buying cell phones and in-house warranties at inflated prices.

Chew and his shop became infamous after videos were posted last November of a crying Vietnamese tourist (above left) begging staff at the shop to refund his money.

The five of them will be charged in court tomorrow.
