Social media movement asking Singapore to wear black this Sunday has gone viral

A simple way to mark the passing of a great man.

A movement has sprung online calling for Singaporeans to wear black this Sunday, 29 Mar, to mourn the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

The hashtags #BlackTopSunday and #BlackSunday is also gaining traction.

Several graphics have also appeared calling for 5 million people to wear black.

The state funeral service for Mr Lee will be held at 2pm on Sunday, March 29, at the National University of Singapore's University Cultural Centre. A private cremation service at Mandai Crematorium follows the same day.
