Vivian Balakrishnan informs the Internet that his stat boards are busy

No rest for our environment watchers

The recent downpours temporarily halted the onslaught of haze.

Naturally, Minister for Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan was very pleased with the respite. He played weatherman in his Facebook post on Oct. 27, 2014 and gently slipped in the message that the two statutory boards - Public Utilities Board (PUB) and National Environment Agency (NEA) - under his ministry are busy.

Wait a minute.

If NEA is also in-charged of the weather forecast and if PUB is monitoring the occurrence of flash floods, does that mean the minister is saying that we should wear our Phua Chu Kang boots soon?

Anyway, the Metrological Service Singapore run by NEA said that there will be more rain and less haze as the inter-monsoon season, characterised by more rain and light wind, is kicking in.
