10 differences between the freshmen and the graduating students

Here's one for those who are graduating this May/June.

As some of us approach the tail end of our University lives, I can’t help but notice the significant changes I’ve seen in everyone around me from the time I entered till now.

Hence, there is no better time to look back and identify the things that have changed in me, and other students.

1. Everything is a first vs everything is a last

From ordering our first Yong Tau Foo to the end of our final presentation in University – there will always be a reason to snap a picture and send it straight to Facebook.

2. How we react when our classmate remind us that a 30-page report is due tomorrow

Our 1st year reaction:

3. When a professor asks us for an answer or opinion

4. When a friend tells us that he/she made the dean list

5. Our ambitions

During our 1st year, all we want is to get rich quick and then let our money work for us.

But by the time we reach our final semester, we realize that there are a few things that are far more important – like our sanity.

6. Dating in University

During the 1st year there is really no pressure, commitments and responsibilities when it comes to dating.

All of a sudden when it comes time to graduate, our Asian parents, friends and governing bodies start getting all up in our shit.

7. What I expect(ed) from University

Our first year is usually filled with enthusiasm and the thirst for knowledge.

But by the time we reach our last semester…

8. How we treat our Professors

In our freshmen year, we were still unsure about how the student-professor relationship should be. So we played it safe.

But once we’re ready to graduate, nothing is off limits – especially with a certain professor we’ve always had a crush on.

9. What jobs you think you’re capable of doing when you graduate

As we enter University, we have this delusion that our degree will send us on a path to success.

3 to 4 years later, we start to feel like we’re only capable of doing the simple tasks.

10. The definition of graduation

When we enter University:

As we leave and the bank calls us to tell us to start paying off our loans:
