Top 10 outlets to buy Toto from this Chinese New Year

Who cares about statistics when you can buy a good Toto daydream?

Have you ever sat on the toilet bowl, stood in the shower or stoned in your office cubicle to daydream about the awesome things you can do with a few million dollars?

Some of you probably would think about all the luxury brands you could buy, some of you would think of that awesome month-long vacation in Europe. I personally daydream about buying a few properties and living off rental. While I don't agree that gambling is the be-all end-all solution to a comfortable life, I do think that buying the odd Quick-pick or two occasionally offers you a temporary escape.

This little innocent guilty pleasure is something we deserve once in a while and the upside of all this is, we still have a one in a bazillion chance of striking the top prize too.

Chinese New Year is arriving in less than 3 weeks from now and it is usually accompanied by a special Hong Bao Toto top prize from Singapore Pools of $10 million. So here's the top 10 outlets to buy Toto from in terms of the number of times top prize-winning tickets have been sold from these outlets.

1. 7-Eleven Yishun - Block 102 Yishun Avenue 5 #01-137 (31 wins)

2. NTUC Fairprice Tanjong Pagar - Block 5 Tanjong Pagar Road Tanjong Pagar Plaza #01-01 (20 wins)

3. Seah Koon Huat  - Block 116 Bukit Merah View #01-233 (20 wins)

4. Singapore Pools Hougang N1 Branch - Block 106 Hougang Avenue 1  #01-1209/1211 (19 wins)

5. Ng Teo Guan Self Service - Block 301 Ubi Avenue 1 #01-251 (18 wins)

6. Fatt Chye Heng Trading - Block 7 Hougang Avenue 3 #01-48 (17 wins)

7. Tan Wee Fong Trading - Block 24 Bendemeer Road #01-529 (17 wins)

8. Teo Sook Cheng Agency - Block 293 Yishun Street 22 #01-225 (17 wins)

9. Laura's Gifts - Block 442 Pasir Ris Drive 6 #01-42 (16 wins)

10. Murugan Sports & Video Pte Ltd - Block 204 Bedok North Street 1 #01-415 (16 wins)

If anyone has ever taken a lesson on statistics, you will know that the chances of winning at each outlet is the same. It's just that at a certain point in time, some people thought that these 10 places were the most 'lucky' outlets and more people bought from them. A larger proportion of tickets sold there equals a higher probability for those outlets to produce top winners.

But psychologically, it is still more "shiok" to buy from these outlets and certainly helps with our daydreaming. Good luck to all and 'Huat Ah!'.
