Passers-by at Chong Pang market yesterday (3 Dec) helped apprehend an alleged thief who tried to make away with $200 from a fishmonger.

Shortly after, a photograph of the alleged thief made its way online. The photograph (depicted below), showed that the man had several cable ties tied tightly around his wrists and ankle. Some netizens pointed out that his feet and hands were turning purple.

Several commenters online mentioned that this man was aggressive and it took seven people to subdue him and hold him down. However, the cable ties and the manner in which the photograph was presented did not sit well with some people online.
