Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong was at Exercise Highcrest, a joint exercise by various ministries (MINDEF, MHA) to test Singapore's National Maritime Security System.

The exercise included counter-terrorism operation that was conducted both on land and at sea.

During the exercise PM Lee gave his first comments on the hacktivists and cyber security, following their threats to cripple the Singapore government's IT infrastructure in a YouTube video.

Below are his comments from his interview with the media:

1. On cyber security: "Cyber attacks are a danger to us, and a very real one".

2. The government's response to Anonymous:  "We will spare no effort to track down the culprit." "If we can find him, we will bring him to justice and he will be dealt with severely".

3. On the "Messiah" and the Anonymous: "It is not a laughing matter. It's not just anything goes, and you're anonymous, therefore there's no responsibility. You may think you are anonymous. We will make that extra effort to find out who you are."

4. Singapore's IT network: he said that no system can be "100 per cent waterproof" as "IT systems are complicated" and "somewhere or other, there will be some weakness which could be exploited".

"When it comes to IT security, there is no end to the work".
