A Singapore-themed restaurant has just opened in London, and it's serving up some very familiar dishes.

Called "Singapulah", the restaurant was founded by local chef and restaurateur Ellen Chew, who also runs the famous Rasa Sayang in London.

Nostalgic ambience

A gander at the restaurant's Instagram page reveals a cosy restaurant that'll probably coax even the most suppressed Singaporean accent out.

The place is decked out in old-fashioned flooring, booths, and light fixtures reminiscent of Singapore in the 1970s.

It looks like customers can even play chess on these old school tables, like those uncles at void decks.

Diners can also enjoy a curated cocktail menu, as well as a range of sojus and gins from the bar.

The menu boasts a selection of iconic Singaporean cuisine, notably tagged with standard London prices.

These include the Singapulah Bak Chor Mee (S$28.86), Blk 53 Wonton Mee (S$14.95), Singapore Laksa (S$28.86), and Nasi Lemak Ayam Goreng (S$25.46).

Singapulah's dishes are made with products imported from Singapore, said the restaurant.
