Jennie of K-pop girl group Blackpink has come under criticism for abruptly leaving the stage during the group’s concert in Melbourne on Jun. 11.
The group held two shows in the city as part of their ongoing “Born Pink” world tour.

Blackpink had earlier performed in Singapore on May 13 and 14.
Left the stage during song
The incident happened on the second night of their shows, and videos that emerged on social media showed Jennie exiting the stage shortly after singing a part of their song, “Lovesick Girls”.
For the #blackpink stans, here are some of the Melbourne moments. Jennie walking off stage, the band explaining why, Rosé saying she's not gonna cry, then later crying (because being back home in Melbs made her emotional)#BLACKPINKinMelbourne #BLACKPINK_BORNPINK pic.twitter.com/8FdG7DJahk

The three other members, Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa, later told fans that Jennie was feeling ill and proceeded to complete the concert without her.

Feeling unwell
Later, Blackpink’s agency YG Entertainment issued a statement, saying that Jennie could not complete the show “due to her deteriorating condition”.
They said the idol had wanted to continue performing but “following medical advice on site, [the management] immediately took measures to ensure she receives ample rest and stability”.
She also posted on her Instagram story on Jun. 13 and apologised for exiting the stage abruptly.

Netizens not buying it
Despite her apology, some have gone online to point out that it was not the first time Jennie had stopped performing in the middle of Blackpink’s shows.
For instance, they noted that she had done so at previous shows in Canada and Thailand, among others.

After the concert, Jennie was reportedly seen eating at Haidilao with Blackpink members and their entourage.
This led to her Instagram posts being bombarded with negative comments, saying that she had disrespected those who paid to watch Blackpink's concert.
Meanwhile, others continued to cheer the K-pop star on.
