Watch out, ex-teacher explains to MOE how teachers deserve free parking

If MOE wants to be calculative, two can play the same game.

In light of the recent news that the Ministry of Education has been mulling since 2015 if teachers should be charged for parking their vehicles within school compounds, one person's Facebook post on behalf of a former teacher in reaction to this news has gone viral.

In said post, an ex-teacher who has left the teaching service channelled the message via Subramaniyan Senthil Zack, subtly explaining how a call for transparency and proper accounting for costs can mark the end of education as we know it today, if teachers followed suit.

The message speaks of the hidden costs of being a teacher -- from festive classroom decorations costing hundreds of dollars (who knew?) to numerous man-hours spent communicating with students' parents.

It ends off thanking his colleagues for continuing to "make a difference".

The post was shared more than 1,200 times within the first 12 hours.

Your move, MOE.
