Hardcore shopper brings shopping trolley onto LRT

Thumbs up man!

The reason why you have to put a $1 coin into a supermarket trolley to detach it from other trolleys is because you will be incentivised to return the trolley.

This makes it easier for the supermarket to keep track of all these trolleys - they do not have to hunt around the carpark or estate for missing trolleys.

But for some people, $1 is clearly not incentive enough.

This photograph captured on the LRT has been making its rounds on Facebook, quite possibly due to the incredulity of the entire situation:

Questions to ask:

How did they get it through the gantry and onto the LRT?

Why didn't anyone stop them?

Are they planning to return the trolley some day in the future?

How did they manage to endure all the "WTH" stares throughout the trip?

NTUC spends $150,000 recovering and repairing trolleys

According to this poster, NTUC reserves the right to report missing trolleys to the police:

It is unclear whether the trolley pictured with the woman belongs to NTUC FairPrice. It would not be a stretch to say other supermarket chains would similarly report missing trolleys as stolen.

So please return your trolleys if you don't want to be accused of being a thief, but also return it to the proper supermarket, if not you'll end up like this:
