E-bikes travelling 40km/h on park connector almost made several pedestrians pass away

This is why we can't have nice things.

Crowdsourced traffic-related video Facebook page Beh Chia Lor just released footage of three e-bike riders riding along what looked like the Kallang Park Connector, starting from Carmichael Road and ending at Braddell Road.

The video overlay also included a speedometer which showed that at several points in the video, the bikers supposedly reached speeds of up to 40 km/h. The National Parks stipulate that the speed limit on park connectors should be 15 km/h.

That's almost three times the limit:

According to Google Maps, the distance between Carmichael Road and Braddell Road, taking into account the route the riders took, would be around 850 metres.

So doing some simple math, taking into account that the video is 1 minute 13 seconds long, we can work out the rough  speed of the bikers - around 41.9 km/h.

And they did it without helmets and sped past many unsuspecting pedestrians along the way.

We will just leave this video of a 40 km/h crash test here and slowly back away:
