Despite mainly hanging out with dudes in his past life as Chief Defence Force, newly-appointed Senior Minister of State for Transport Ng Chee Meng proved that he has no problems chatting up the ladies.
The 47-year-old 4th gen leader/former three-star General/ Acting Education Minister was talking to a makcik, who is also a SMRT traffic controller, during a joint deployment exercise by the Land Transport Authority (LTA), SMRT and SBS Transit which started at 9:30am this morning (Oct 14).
Check out the pick up line.
Ng: "Today is the Islamic New Year. Happy New Year."
Makcik: "Eh how you know?"
Ng: "I know many things. I know many things. I got friends lah. I got friends who tell me."
Mad pick up skills, bruh.
In other news, Transport Minister Khaw Boon Wan looks nonchalant, like a typical commuter on a crowded train.

Anyway, back to the ground deployment exercise.
It simulated multiple power trips at three stations along the East-West Line: namely Buona Vista, Outram Park and Tiong Bahru without affecting regular train services.
The exercise also highlighted a new initiative that the transport operators have come up with.
For instance, a new beacon will be placed at bus stops signalling to bus drivers and commuters that there's a train breakdown and free bus rides are activated. The beacon is currently on trial at the Tiong Bahru bus stop.
