"Voting is our responsibility as Singaporeans. People for years have fought for the right to vote, so to not vote would be an insult to them. If we are hoping for a better Singapore, we need to make our voices heard. So I don't really understand when people say: 'Oh, I can't decide between who to vote. I'm just gonna spoil the vote.' I think it's important to really sit down, read up to find out what each party are trying to do and then make an informed decision."
Ken Lim, Hype Records boss and former Singapore Idol judge and current The Final 1 judge
"It's an obligation to endorse the party of your choice and to discover if there is a there is a correlation between your perspectives and a majority of the population."
Royston Tan, director of 15, 4:30, 881, 3688
"It's because Singapore is not owned by any parties or a person; it's owned by fellow Singaporeans from all walks of life. We vote not just for ourselves but for the next generation. My dad says no matter where you go, die die must come back to vote. My ah beng friend says better vote properly if not the KNN policy come out, you got no right to KPKB! :) It's also the only time i see so many wayang in Singapore, far exceeded mediacock Mediacorp Star Awards!"
Jean Danker, Class 95 DJ and all-round chio bu
Despite having a packed schedule (she was speaking at the Spikes Asia at Suntec Convention Centre earlier in the day), Jean Danker rushed down to Raffles Girls' Primary School to cast her vote before heading back to prep for her evening drive time radio show.
"Because it's our opportunity to be heard! Also I want to have a say in an important decision that affects Singaporeans and our future. So I don't want to let the opportunity go to waste. Every vote matters!"
