Amid these days of hustings, I spent this morning (Sep. 9) following People's Action Party (PAP) candidate for East Coast GRC Lee Yi Shyan on a walkabout around Bedok Town Centre in the Kampong Chai Chee ward, which comes under his purview during his time as one of the constituency's MPs.

Mr Lee appears genuinely popular with the people around Bedok MRT. Everywhere he went, there were people who would come up to shake his hand or request for a photo with him.

Lee’s wife came along today to lend her support to his campaign. She was initially reluctant to be photographed, but after a nice chat, she warmed up and eventually relented.

After a tiring morning, the lovely couple savours some hawker goodness at the newly-renovated Bedok Food Centre.
