The past nine days has been intense for every one of the candidates, especially today as the campaigning draws to an end.
I was fortunate enough to have a little peek at what really goes on - particularly the amount of love and support from his volunteers - at one of Dr Maliki Osman's walkabout, as he has very graciously allowed me to spend a day with him.
I could not help but be warmed by how much he earnestly cares about his residents, volunteers and of course his wife; whom was affectionately known by most as Mrs Maliki.
As the saying goes, "Behind every successful man, is a woman."
In Parliament and in front of residents, Maliki has to appear infallible and unshaken, but in actual fact, he can be quite a klutz too: he actually wore his "PAP" badge upside down!
Thankfully, he had Mrs Maliki by his side who was quick to spot the error. That's not all she did: she tried her best to help him in every way she could, from proofreading his speech to making sure he eats something.
I could not help but notice how she kept glancing at him with concern because from what I've learnt, Maliki was under the weather and he had actually lost a lot of weight from all the walking he had done.
That is why, despite how trying and intense the competition in East Coast is, Maliki will continue to stay strong - if not for the residents, then for his wife.

7. Spending a rare moment to himself to read a letter from his resident.

9. No time to sit down and have a proper meal
10. Taking a call from his children: he told them that that he misses and loves them dearly.
11. A pair of shoes for different occasions but sometimes, it really just feels better being barefooted.

14. Running through his speech for the last time before heading up on stage.
15. Really, behind every great man, is a wonderful and supportive woman.
