Low Thia Khiang & Goh Chok Tong engage in back-&-forth about the Titanic

It's nice to see grown men engage in playground talk.

Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong likened the choice of a party to picking a cruise ship to travel on. He made this comment on Sunday at a walkabout in Aljunied GRC.

Without naming any political party, he said while going with the PAP was like taking a cruise ship with a destination, other choices were akin to a ship to nowhere, like a gambling ship.

In a reply to reporters yesterday, Low said: "I'm afraid the cruise ship is over capacity limit. It used to be a luxury cruise ship. The designer claimed that it's not sinkable. The name is Titanic."

Low added: "There are not enough lifeboats, no preparations or provisions for failure".

The Workers' Party chief Low Thia Khiang puts a Titanic twist on ESM Goh's cruise ship analogy #GE2015 http://bit.ly/1NX7lLn

The Titanic was a passenger vessel that sank on its maiden voyage resulting in 1,500 deaths.

Low's comments follows WP's call for voters to back the opposition as a credible alternative in the event of a decline of the PAP.

In a Facebook post last night, Goh responded to Low's analogy.

He said: "Titanic sank on its maiden voyage. The PAP cruised over 50 years under three captains. All onboard are safe."
