In May 2014, Singaporean Remisier King Peter Lim was confirmed as the new owner of Valencia FC after 22 trustees of Valencia Foundation committee voted unanimously in his favour.

He pledged $720 million to the club.

And was greeted like a rock star by Valencia fans.

Fast forward to Aug. 9, 2015, Valencia FC is big on Singapore:

Valencia Club de Futbol wish all Singaporeans a Happy National Day

Majulah Singapura!

During their home match against AS Roma, Valencia CF did not forget to send their warm greetings to Singaporeans celebrating their nation’s Golden Jubilee. The match was the first of the season at the Mestalla, following the official presentation of the Valencia CF 2015/16 first squad to all the fans.

The greeting ‘Majulah Singapura! Valencia Club de Futbol wish all Singaporeans a very Happy National Day! Amunt Singapur!’ was displayed prominently on the stadium’s electronic board. ‘Majulah Singapura’ means ‘Onward Singapore’ or as Valencianos would say, ‘Amunt Singapur!’

This gesture was a nod to the close ties between Valencia and Singapore where the club recently opened their first-ever overseas office.
