Here's the flight path SQ50 took before the actual NDP aerial flypast

This is why flights got delayed. Not.

You must have caught the amazeball aerial flypast by a Singapore Airlines A380 – complete with a Singapore flag-themed livery – during the National Day Parade on Sunday.

Much proud. Such plane. So wow.

But did you know behind this sky-high tribute was a very mind-numbing, soul-crushing flight above Jurong and Bukom islands?

Yes, the A380 flew some 11 rounds above the industrial islands before eventually heading to Marina Bay.

After seeing this flight path, we sure hope SQ50 have enough barf bags for the poor pilots.

And in other news, Qantas threw shade at Singapore as its QF36 flight got delayed for 23 hours.

According to The Straits Times, a Qantas spokesman said that the original flight arriving from Brisbane had to be diverted to Batam due to "congestion at Changi Airport as a result of the airport's closure for SG50 flyover celebrations".

Our airspace was closed for a short while on Sunday evening to accommodate aerial displays during NDP. And no planes were allowed to land or takeoff at Changi Airport.

However, the real reason why it got delayed for 23 hours – as our national paper of record reported – was that its crew have exceeded their flight hours and thus got stuck in Batam for hours.

SG50 can do no wrong, mate.
