Roy Ngerng, the blogger who is being sued by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong for defamation, looks set to join the Reform Party to contest in the upcoming General Election.
The 34-year-old had previously met with Reform Party secretary-general Kenneth Jeyaretnam and has announced he will be joining the party on a walkabout at Telok Blangah on Wednesday evening.

Ngerng asked his readers on his blog on Aug. 4 to help him decide via a poll if he should run.
The post, Should I Run for Election, mentioned that competing in the electoral process was not for "fame, power or money":
“I want to be able to enter government, to debate about these issues and allow policies to be passed to protect Singaporeans. This is all I want.”
So far, Ngerng's own poll indicated that three-quarters of respondents were supportive of him.
