This year’s National Day Rally (NDR), held at Ang Mo Kio’s ITE College Central for the third time, saw Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong spoke in three languages for nearly three hours.

If you don't have three hours to spare, watch this instead.

1. For the first time, the National Day Rally felt like a getai performance.

Yup, Kit Chan was the opening act for PM Lee.

2. We spotted a fan of Kit Chan's Home. At first she was like this.

3. And then she was like this.

4. It's perfectly normal because the politicians also couldn't help it.

5. Check out PM and his DPMs. Amy Khor definitely sang her heart out.

6. And on to the rally proper. As PM Lee walked up, Ho Ching played dutiful wife, quickly filling up his seat.

Nice save. You do not want people to assume that the empty seat is reserved for the late Lee Kuan Yew.

7. He talked about a strong SAF. Don't mess with +65.

8. When he introduced our pioneer servicemen, our first US Ranger-trained commando LTC Chan Seck Sung wore his red beret and gave PM a solid salute.

Super Garang. 

9. And he spoke of our diminishing reliance on Malaysia for water. Hmm... Who is the crazy politician?

10. Because we now have New Water. Huat ah!

11. And that was MP Ong Teng Koon's reaction after PM's "Huat ah!".

His eyes and nose are red. Are tears welling up in his eyes again?

12. When PM Lee spoke about the new Fresh Start Housing Scheme, Speaker of Parliament went straight for National Development Minister Khaw. 

Manpower Minister kenna sandwiched. Poor thing.

13. And we have to put up this gif because the background is a chameleon. 

14. Of course, there is some plugging for the Men in White. Because it's a election National Day Rally after all.

15. So when a friend of the late Lee Kuan Yew asked the man whether there will be a Singapore 50 years from now, there could only be one LKY-esque answer.

16. And as PM Lee ended his speech, there was a standing ovation. 

Wonder how it will look like if the Workers' Party MPs attended the NDR - will they stand or will they sit?
