According to Ng Eng Hen’s Facebook post, the Minister of Defence said The Black Knights -- the Republic of Singapore Air Forces’ aerobatics team -- will be performing a special tribute to Singapore's first prime minister, the late Lee Kuan Yew, at this year's 50th National Day Parade.

Ng explained that the fighter jets will be dedicating a “special flypast” over the Padang and the team will be “lined up as 5 stars watching over this nation he founded; representing the ideals that Mr Lee spent his life pushing for".
The five stars in the Singapore flag represent democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality.
"It will be a fitting tribute to Mr Lee, for all of us to look up and beyond and remember his wish to keep Singapore going," Ng added.
Previously, the Black Knights had wanted to perform the “Missing Man” formation flypast to bid farewell to former prime minister Lee Kuan Yew as part of his send-off during the conclusion of his state funeral on March 29, 2015.
However, it was not performed in the end due to low visibility.
A video of the "Missing Man" formation is available as it was recorded at the rehearsal on Saturday, the day before it was supposed to be performed.
