Jurong also boleh.

Following today's announcement that the terminal of the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur high-speed rail will be located in Jurong East, one thing is finally confirmed: Jurong is more Malaysia than Singapore.

Although it is still years away from completion (original completion date of 2020 thought to be unrealistic), PM Lee said that the terminus will change the face of Jurong.

It's true. For soon, Jurong will be Little Malaysia. Here are 7 facts that prove Jurong is more Malaysia than Singapore.

Fact 1: Jurong East will be just 90 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur.

Yes, after the completion of the Singapore-Kuala Lumpur high-speed rail, Singapore - or more specifically, Jurong East - will be a mere 90 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur. It's also true that flying takes just 30 minutes but 90 minutes can take us from Changi to Jakarta. So you really don't want to go into that.

Fact 2: In the future, Jurong will have two direct transport links to Malaysia.

Fact 3: A hotel, owned by a Malaysian company, is located in Jurong.

Fact 4: There's actually a "Malaysia Boleh!" food court in Jurong Point

True story. The other well-known Malaysian-themed food court is in Resorts World Sentosa - a Genting company.

Fact 5: There are more bus services from Jurong to Johor compared to other parts of Singapore.

If you add in SBS Transit's 160, that will be seven bus services. No way.

Fact 6: A new mall that doesn't look like a typical Singapore mall.

Yes, it's name is Big Box. Yes, it's like a warehouse. And if you buy in bulk, it's cheaper. No need to go JB.

Fact 7: Because this joke is so common, even Jurong residents take this as the truth.
