Everyone's suddenly going gaga over Springleaf Prata Place's Murtaburger

Facebook and a good photo: probably the best marketing tool any food establishment could ask for.

So on Facebook, there is a pretty big public group called "Halal Cafe and Restaurants in Singapore", and one particular post has in recent days been gaining plenty of attention and circulation even though it's a few months old:

Here's a screenshot of it in case you can't see it:

It's a photo of an Indian dish called the "Murtaburger", a "marriage" of the Murtabak (prata stuffed with a variety of ingredients) and the well-loved Ramly burger — which these days most of us can only find sub-par iterations of at pasar malams (night markets).

What's in it? Two mutton patties. Wrapped in egg, Ramly-style, mayonnaise and chilli/black pepper sauce, as well as plenty of oozing Mozzarella cheese, and the "burger" buns? Delightful, crispy, delicious prata.

So we'll get straight to the point: you can get it for $7 at any of the three outlets of Indian food chain Springleaf Prata Place. You can visit their flagship location at number 1, Thong Soon Avenue, or if you're an Eastie, their second location at 57B, Jalan Tua Kong (off Siglap Road). Their newest branch at Rail Mall is now open too:

5. Portobello Mushroom Cheese Prata ($5)

As explained. Yes, you might balk at the idea of a $5 prata, but you haven't tried prata with portobello mushrooms in it, have you?
