Ministry of Manpower turns on emo power in 4min 32sec ad to inform public about employment rights

Someone leafed through the Thai ad book and took a chunk out of it.

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has taken a leaf out of emo Thai advertisements and turned on the emo power to send a message.

Uploaded onto their Facebook page on Jan. 18, 2016, is a four-and-a-half minute long video advertisement reminding the public about everyone's employment rights featuring an over-filial son helping his ailing mother who is exploited by a typical unscrupulous Chinese boss who wears spectacles.

Very poignant. Especially when the kid turns to dealing durians to make some dough.

Soaking the video in moody sepia colour tones, the video's emo factor is reminiscent of the way the king of story-telling ads do it:
