The real story of the Singapore vs Japanese World Cup qualification football match wasn't the comfortable three-nil scoreline that took the Japanese to the top of its group.

Instead it was the sight of a young Japanese boy picking up trash left behind in the stands.

It has garnered some 1,300 shares and 85,000 views after just one hour. Yes, it was so mesmerising that the ST photographer cannot help but capture it for posterity.

Majority of the netizens were fawning all over Japanese culture and their high standards of cleanliness.
