Didn't manage to get a #Bidadari flat? How about something bigger instead?

EDITOR'S NOTE: A previous version of this article suggested that singles could purchase four and five-room flats. This information is wrong. Click here to see what flats singles can buy.

2,139 flats in the new Bidadari were offered to Singaporeans yesterday. Easily among the world's top contenders for public housing. Easily.

Naturally, the demand was sick  overwhelming – there were 259 applicants for 151 units of 5-room Bidadari flats (151 incidentally is the number of original Pokemon) yesterday. That means at least 101 couples will be going home disappointed. Expect it to be over-subscribed even more as application is open for 10 days.

Well, if you happened to be any of these people. We'd just like to say that it's not the end of the world. You didn't get the flat – big deal. Now you have a whole lot of money you can park elsewhere. Perhaps you could consider these beautiful, beautiful homes. Quadruple times bigger. Freehold. Breathtaking views. The catch?

They're overseas. Where land price isn't incredibly jacked up like in Singapore.

(Prices for Bidadari start at $433,000 for four-room flats and $544,000 for five-room flats. The following properties, excluding taxes/maintenance costs are similar in pricing. Enjoy.)
