It is judgement day for the six former and current City Harvest Church leaders.

Wednesday morning saw the team of six walk into State Courts, with their heads held high, to listen to Judicial Commissioner See Kee Oon read out his judgement on the historic case that has even caught the attention of the rest of the world, and which Singapore has followed closely, over the past three years.

According to Channel NewsAsia, an overnight queue formed outside the State Courts with roughly 100 people waiting. Court passes were issued to the first 55 in line only, though.

As the whole nation awaits the verdict (which is being read out right now), we check out what CHC founder Kong Hee was thinking about before judgement day.

On Sunday, Oct. 18:

During our recent 26th Anniversary as a church, I shared about City Harvest 2.0 — “focusing on our core values, serving the purpose of God with greater effectiveness and sustainability.” Since the second half of 2012, a new management team and a new Church Board has been running the church. This new leadership will take City Harvest into CHC 2.0. Let’s live in the dimension of the Holy Spirit and have hope for a better, greater and more glorious future in Christ. On Monday, Oct. 19, he mentions the "5 years and 5 months" since the authorities first started investigating CHC, and reveals that the church held special prayers for him and his four comrades still with the church (former fund manager Chew Eng Han left the church in 2013):

Thank you for standing in faith with us these past 5 years and 5 months. Thank you for praying for us this weekend. May the peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus our Lord. A photo posted by Kong Hee (@pskonghee) on

He rallies the troops to stay strong and united:

Let’s stand strong in faith, in love, and in unity. "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity! It is like precious oil poured on the head, running down ... for there the Lord bestows his blessing, even life forevermore" (Ps. 133).

He shows a picture of a handmade book of encouragement from some young church members:

Thank you for the handmade book of encouragement, guys! Appreciate your prayers and love! A photo posted by Kong Hee (@pskonghee) on

"If you guys are well, Sun Ho and I are too!"

Photos with various members in the church. Always happy to meet different ones of you & hearing you are well. If you guys are well, @sun___ho & I are too!

A sympathy-points-scoring picture of him and his siblings:

He announces a church prayer meeting for Tuesday night, with a bible quote that alludes to Wednesday:

Join us tomorrow for a time of prayer and intercession. "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:6-7 NKJV

In what looks like the completion of his "leadership handover" process to "CHC 2.0", his wife Sun Ho is officially ordained a pastor:

@sun___ho was recently ordained and in that ceremony, Dr. Michael Scales, President of NYACK College, and Rev. Dr. Canon James Wong prayed for her. Thank you for your love and support for @sun___ho as she was recognized, confirmed and commissioned for the work of the ministry. Please continue to pray for Sun & our new generation leadership team, as they work together for CHC 2.0! Watch the video at fb.com/konghee. A photo posted by Kong Hee (@pskonghee) on

A seemingly poignant note to mark what could possibly be the final day Kong and his five fellow former church leaders have as criminal record-free citizens.
