An unidentified man has been arrested for jaywalking on the race track during the Formula One Singapore Grand Prix on Sunday, Sept. 20.
The 27-year-old man, clad in a T-shirt and shorts while strolling along the side of the Esplanade Drive section of the Marina Bay Street Circuit, was arrested for Rash Act and is assisting with investigations.
His brief appearance on the track resulted in the race safety car to be deployed. Shortly after, the man hopped back into the stands.
Here is a video showing the man on the track and the commentators in disbelief:

Commentator: "The safety car is being deployed. You can see the double yellow flags being waved. Have you got a car down there, or debris down there, or what I wonder is the problem?"
Sebastian Vettel: "There's a fan on the track, there's a fan on the track."
Commentator: "What is this? Just a man going for a stroll alongside the track. There's somewhere in the region of what? 89,000 fans here this evening and one of them just thought, 'You know what? I'll go for a walk on the track.' That is just lunacy."
Needless to say, walking on the F1 race track is exceedingly dangerous -- not just for the walker but also for the drivers.
During the 1977 South African Grand Prix, Tom Pryce, a Welsh F1 racing driver, was killed after colliding at high speed with a safety marshal crossing the track during the race. Both men were killed instantly.
