Foreign leaders congratulate Prime Minister Lee on PAP's victory in GE2015

The ruling People’s Action Party (PAP), which has governed Singapore since independence in 1965, garnered about 69.9 percent of the popular vote and secured 83 of 89 seats in GE 2015, held on Sep 11., last Friday.

This is nearly a ten per cent improvement above the 60.1 percent it won in the last GE in 2011.

Below are five messages of congratulations Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong received after the PAP's strong showing.

5. Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng congratulated the PAP and said that the results showed that Singaporeans voted for good governance and clean leadership, traits that the republic is famous for.
