So the Cabinet reshuffle is finally done. And amidst all the congratulatory and run-of-the-mill Facebook posts, we wonder how the politicians reacted to the news of their new appointments...
When no one's watching, of course.
1. Heng Swee Keat (Minister for Finance)
After four years of kids and tiger moms, it's time to show Minister Heng the money - he was the Managing Director of the Monetary Authority of Singapore previously.
It's almost like Low Thia Khiang's "Where is the money?" But in a good way, of course.
2. Ng Chee Meng and Ong Ye Kung (Acting Ministers for Education)
It's the first time a Ministry in Singapore is being headed by two Ministers, so it could be this:
Or hopefully it be something more like this:
2. Vivian Balakrishnan (new Foreign Affairs Minister)
From Environment and Water Resources to Foreign Affairs. He's back. His reaction gif can be cool like this:
Or gleeful like this:
3. Grace Fu (Minister for Culture, Community and Youth)
Yeah, baby, yeah. Baby Minister no more.
4. DPM Tharman Shanmugaratnam (DPM, Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies)
That's the view when one commands more than half the government
5. Iswaran (Minister for Trade and Industry (Industry))
Entered politics in 97. Made it as a Minister with a portfolio 18 years later. About time indeed.
6. Chee Hong Tat (Minister of State for Communications and Information and Health)
We should have seen it coming: Chee proved to the masses on Nomination Day that he can communicate effectively with his fists and is in a pink of health with all the chest thumping.
7. Regular MP Alex Yam
Seems like he missed out on the Cabinet boat, he went on announce Cabinet changes on his own Facebook page garnering some Likes.
8. Khaw Boon Wan (Minister for Transport)
FYI, he's the target. PM Lee is Katnis. Don't blur.
9. Koh Poh Koon (Minister of State for National Development and Trade & Industry)
He finally found the bright light of office beckoning to him.
This is seriously the best gif ever.
But let's just include a Koh Poh Koon classic gif for good measure:
10. Baey Yam Keng (Parliamentary Secretary for Community, Culture and Youth)
Who has no time for selfie now with his appointment as Parliamentary Secretary.
Or maybe he can get exclusive selfies with the entire Cabinet:
