A video posted on Facebook on Aug. 11 shows a Singapore-registered Honda Civic stolen in 10 seconds at a carpark outside Tebrau city, a shopping mall in Johor Baru.
The incident was captured on a surveillance camera.
The car appeared to have been unlocked and opened without any force.
Nolan Khoo, 32, the car owner, told The Straits Times the Johor police has informed him that the chances of recovering his car are "50-50" as it would likely have been exported overseas.
He also speculated in the comments of the Facebook post that the thief could have "some sort of master key and remote" to pull off the theft so quickly.
Last month, a Singapore-registered white Honda was stolen at JB's KSL City Mall.
But it was found after the owner's brother posted an online appeal for netizens to help locate it.
