Sperm whale found beached at Jurong Island

It is the first time this species is found here.

Lee Kong Chian Natural History Museum has put up a Facebook post showing the carcass of a 10-metre-long dead sperm whale found beached at Jurong Island.

It is the first time a sperm whale, which is internationally threatened with extinction, had been recorded here.

Nine of the museum's staff were deployed to salvage the specimen.
