Pritam Singh shares article on the concept of gerrymandering, ends post with a cheeky wink

We see what you did there bro.

Workers' Party Pritam Singh, he of that epic beard and who has no qualms about going head on with ministers in Parliament, shared this political article by Washington Post on his Facebook page on July 21.

Living up to its click-baitish title of "This is the best explanation of gerrymandering you will ever see", the article is indeed – in our humble opinion – the best explanation of gerrymandering we will ever see.

The Aljunied Group Representation Constituency (GRC) Member of Parliament added an innocuous caption of "Looks familiar?" and ended with an cheeky wink emoticon.

Interestingly, the rather handy image was first posted by one Steven Nass on February 21 and was later spun into a primer by Washington Post on March 1.

Pritam's Facebook post comes after the announcement by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on July 13 that the Electoral Boundaries Review Committee was formed two months ago. PM Lee added that he has asked the committee to come up with smaller GRCs, and to have at least 12 Single Member Constituencies (SMCs).

To add on to the thickening plot, in an online version of the Government Gazette published on July 21, the Elections Department has made changes to the boundaries of polling districts within eight GRCs: Chua Chu Kang, East Coast, Jurong, Moulmein-Kallang, Nee Soon, Pasir-Ris Punggol, Sembawang and Tanjong Pagar.

Winter is coming.
