Singaporean Yeo Kim Yeong - with arms as big as most NS men's thighs and lats as wide as a Punggol long kang - broke the world record for the most pull ups executed in one minute Guinness World Record (GWR) announced on June 19.

His 44 pull ups beat the previous record of 42, set by David Bourdon in 2014.

What is a standard Guinness World Record pull up?

The body must remain straight throughout and it must be raised until the chin is above the bar. The body must then be lowered until the arms are straight.

In other words, a SAF-approved pull up.

Believe it or not, Yeo actually signed up for professional training since December 2014 in order to break the record.

A quick check on the GWR shows a lots of different pull up records. There's most pull ups in three minutes, most clap pull ups in one minute and heaviest weighted pull up.

Maybe Yeo can attempt the most pull ups in 24 hours which is now currently held by John Bocek with 5,801 pull ups.
