RSAF successfully carries out 1st airdrop mission for humanitarian aid over Gaza

The batch contains food supplies from Singapore.

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) successfully carried out its first humanitarian aid airdrop into Gaza with its C-130 transport aircraft on Mar. 20 (Singapore time).

The airdrop mission was closely coordinated with the Royal Jordanian Air Force.

"Every little bit counts; we hope these airdrop missions will bring some relief to the humanitarian situation in Gaza," said RSAF in a Facebook post on Mar. 20.

Food supplies

According to Singapore's Minister for Defence Ng Eng Hen, the first batch of aid from Singapore contain food supplies.

"We hope that these humanitarian aid will bring relief to families there," he wrote in a Facebook post shared on Mar. 20.

Operations supported by SAF

The airdrop operations were also supported by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), including in the delivery of the third tranche of aid from Singapore to Jordan.

According to a post on The Singapore Army Facebook page on Mar. 20, soldiers from the 3rd SAF Transport Battalion have been involved in airdrop operations by packing the supplies and rigging the Container Delivery System (CDS).

The delivery of the third tranche of humanitarian aid from Singapore was completed on Mar. 17.
