The body of a 21-year-old man was found in the water near Marina Bay Sands (MBS) on Feb. 5.
The body had been floating near MBS at about 2pm, a 45-year-old reader surnamed Chen told Shin Min Daily News (Shin Min).
The police have ruled out foul play, based on preliminary investigations.
Pronounced dead at scene
Chen said he saw many police officers appearing at the scene at about 3pm.
"I saw them looking for something in the water, and later I found out there was a body in the water," he said.
A photo provided by Chen to Shin Min showed an area cordoned off with a temporary tent, near the steps leading into the water.
Chen added that the body was eventually taken away at around 4:45pm.
Police confirmed that the body of an 21-year-old man was removed from the water, and that he was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
Investigations are ongoing.
