If you remember or have spotted one of these creations before, you'll be pleased to know that Janet Chin has not stopped making cozy houses for the community cats in Singapore.
As Chinese New Year is right around the corner, Chin has been on a roll constructing holiday-appropriate housing for the felines.
Three houses
Her masterpieces vary in shape and design, and come adorned with cat-themed decals and the holiday's signature red and gold colours.
Chin told Mothership that the three houses have since been placed around Yishun — at Blk 114 and near 115C Yishun Ring Rd, and at the bin centre of Blk 291 Yishun Street 22.
Chin shared that she was inspired to create these houses as she dresses her own pet cats in festive clothes every Chinese New Year, and thought that having them pose with festive-themed houses "would be interesting".
She added that she purchased the materials used to decorate the houses, but that the cardboard boxes are recycled.
It takes Chin around two to three days to construct each house.
And it seems the houses have been well-received.
"Having [the houses] placed at the void deck would definitely raise the status of our community cats and narrow the gaps between humans and cats," Chin opined.
She hopes that the cat houses will raise the spirits of those who come across it, as well as "change the minds" of non-cat lovers.
