Prince William arrived in Singapore on Nov. 5 at Jewel Changi Airport to hundreds waiting to see him at the HSBC Rain Vortex.

The crowd warmly received him with cheers and waving Union Jack flags.

The Prince of Wales was joined by the Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development, Sim Ann.

He is in Singapore from Nov. 5 to Nov. 8 for the 2023 Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony.

Upon arriving in the island state, Prince William said it was fantastic to be back in Singapore after 11 years.

"I am grateful to the Singaporean people for hosting us this week. Let us all take inspiration from the fantastic work being done here as we celebrate this year's Earthshot Prize Finalist," he said.

On top of the Earthshot Prize Awards Ceremony on Nov. 7, the Prince's itinerary includes dragon boating and the United for Wildlife Global Summit.

United for Wildlife was founded by Prince William and the Royal Foundation in 2014 with the aim of making it impossible for traffickers to transport, finance or profit from illegal wildlife products.

He would also be taking part in the inaugural "Earthshot Week".

Went around greeting the crowd

Prince William went around the foot of the Rain Vortex to greet the crowd, shaking hands with those gathered to see him.

He even stopped to pose with the crowd to take selfies, talk to some of the children there and gave one child a high-five.

A little boy also presented him with a gift.

The Chief Executive Officer of Jewel Changi Aiport, James Fong, presented Prince William with a tree.

This is the first time a tree has been planted at Jewel Changi Airport to mark the visit of a foreign dignitary.
