Motorcyclist, 25, dies after colliding with lorry in Tuas, driver arrested

The lorry driver, a 46-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death.

A 25-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorcycle collided with a white lorry in Tuas on the morning of Oct. 25, 2023.

The aftermath of the accident was captured by an onlooker who subsequently uploaded the clip to TikTok.

According to the TikTok video, the motorcyclist was a Malaysian.

In the clip, a white canvas tarp, presumably covering the body of the deceased, was placed on the ground in front of the lorry.

A helmet and a motorcycle top box could be seen lying next to the canvas tarp while an ambulance was parked next to the lorry.

The accident also attracted the attention of several onlookers, with one man taking photos of the scene from the side of the road.

Statement from police

The Singapore Police Force told The Straits Times that they were alerted to an accident involving a lorry and a motorcycle at the junction of Tuas View Link and Tuas View Walk 2 on Wednesday at 7:45am.

The lorry driver, a 46-year-old man, was arrested for careless driving causing death.

Police investigations are ongoing.
