An Interpol Red Notice for a Bangladeshi man who allegedly killed his wife and fled Singapore in 2018.

According to Interpol, he is wanted by Singapore for murder.

On Sep. 6, 2018, the decomposed body of a domestic worker, Jonalyn Alvarez Raviz, was found in a forested area along Tampines Road, with a ligature around her neck, which was also tied to a tree, The Straits Times reported.

At a coroner's inquiry in August 2019, the police said the case has been classified as a murder with her husband, Raju Dhaly, as a suspect.

Raju himself left Singapore for Bangladesh's capital, Dhaka, on Sep. 3, 2018.

What happened in September 2018?

The inquiry revealed that on Sep. 2, 2018, Raviz left her employer's flat at Pasir Ris at about 8:30am and met Raju at Pasir Ris Interchange at about 9am.

They spent the day together and boarded a public bus towards Tampines Road in the afternoon.

EZ-link records showed that Raviz alighted at the bus stop along Tampines Road before Defu Lane 2 at about 4.17pm.

At about 5pm, Raju took a taxi from Defu Lane 1 to return to his Jalan Papan dormitory near Jurong River.

He left the dormitory in the evening, bought a plane ticket to Bangladesh and flew out of Singapore at 5:30am on Sep. 3, 2018.

Victim died of a "compressive neck injury"

Raviz's body was found about five metres away from the main footpath of Tampines Road on Sep. 6, 2018.

The state coroner found that Raviz had died of a "compressive neck injury" and described her death as an "unlawful killing likely perpetrated by her husband".

The investigating officer for the case also said strangulation could have been a possible cause of death.

The coroner also described Raju's departure as "unexplained" and added that a warrant for his arrest had been issued.

Suspect worked in Singapore since 2007

Raju had been working as a process maintenance worker in Singapore 2007.

As for Raviz, she was employed as a domestic worker in Singapore between February 2010 and November 2011, before going to Hong Kong to work.

Both Raju and Raviz got married in 2015.

Raviz then returned to Singapore to work as a domestic worker in 2016.

During the investigation, Raviz's employer said Raviz had shared she was unhappy with her marriage as Raju was abusive and often confiscated all of her salary.

Raviz also said she intended to end her marriage as she had caught Raju cheating on her repeatedly and planned to return to the Philippines without informing him.

In June 2018, Raviz told her employer that Raju had threatened to kill her if she left him.

Raviz's employer then alerted Raju's company about the threat.

Her employer lodged a missing person report when Raviz failed to return home on Sep. 2, 2018.

Raju's employer also filed a police report when he failed to show up for work on Sep. 3, 2018.
