Visitors to IKEA Alexandra might see snaking queues at the wall decoration department, which is located on the first floor of the building.

That's because the home furnishing brand has what they call the snap and print kiosk — or what the younger folks call a photobooth — located on one of the walls in the department.

How it works

One thing to note before deciding if you want to try this feature out is that it's not a booth per se — the camera is on the wall, with nothing shielding you from curious onlookers.

After you get to the kiosk, you can choose to either take a photo there, or print an existing photo. Most people are opting for the former, by the way.

If you opt to take photos there and then, you'll be given four chances to get a photo you like.

You can then select the photo you want out of the lot.

You'll also have the option to decorate your photo with as many stickers of your choice.

You'll then go on to choose the size of your print-out:

• 10cm x 15cm — S$0.50
• 13cm x 18cm — S$1.00
• 21cm x 30cm — S$2.00

If you like it enough to put it on your bedside table, there are numerous photo frames in the section for you to choose from.

An IKEA rep told Mothership that while this feature is currently only available at its Alexandra outlet, customers can "stay tuned" for updates.
