It seems all three presidential candidates are pawrents — as Tharman Shanmugaratnam debuted his three cats on his Instagram on Aug. 30.

Tharman and his wife, Jane Ittogi, adopted the felines from the Cat Welfare Society (CWS) and a veterinarian in Jurong.

Named Judy, Socks and Awan, each cat has their own quirky "strengths" and "weaknesses".

Previously, Tharman did share that he was more of a cat person, and that his three cats have a penchant for urinating on his briefcase.

Don't worry though, he assured us that the bag was thoroughly washed and dried before bringing it to Parliament.

Meet Socks

Socks is a three-year-old cat that the Tharmans adopted from the CWS. It is said that his strength is sitting on Tharman's laptop, and his weakness is being woken up.

Meet Judy

Judy is a four-year-old cat that was adopted from a vet in Jurong. Her strength is apparently hiding in wardrobes, but her weakness is "being alone".

Meet Awan

Last but not least is three-year-old Awan. He was also adopted from the CWS, and his strength is biting Ittogi's ankle. His weakness, however, is "thinking".

Max Lemon Ng

Ng, on the other hand, has a one-year-old British shorthair named Max Lemon Ng.

Max has his own Instagram page, which is full of photos of the cat going about its everyday life — from taking a bath to playing with his toys, or just lazing around.

Ng also has a white dog named Cotton, who is deaf but "listens with his heart".

Ng shared that he practices his Teochew with Max and that he will be picking up Mandarin after the elections, so Max will continue to be his partner as he learns.

Cooper the Singapore Special

The third presidential candidate Tan Kin Lian has a furbaby in his home too.

Cooper, also known as Sarge, was a Singapore Special that Tan's daughter adopted in 2020.

Tan's family adopted the dog after hearing of volunteer groups that rescue strays.

According to a post by Tan's media team, Cooper is usually spotted around the neighbourhood as a "great companion" on Tan's daily walks.

Cooper's nickname Sarge comes from the fact that the dog "salutes" with his ears.
