Pizza Hut Singapore's menu has expanded to include Hut Melts, which was previously only available in locations such as the US, Japan and Thailand.

Resembling a folded pizza, each box of two melts costs S$7.90.

Pizza Hut sent their four permanent flavours over for us to try: Hawaiian, Beef Pepperoni, Spicy Chicken Pop, and Cheesy Corn ‘N’ Shroom.

Here's what we think.

Hawaiian

The Hawaiian Hut Melt is definitely for those who are strong advocates of pineapple on pizza.

It has a lot of sweet pineapples wrapped within what tastes like puff pastry.

If you are one of those people who picks pineapple off your pizza, this may not be for you.

Verdict: 6/10. It's like Hawaiian pizza with extra pineapple. I'm not a fan of pineapples.

Beef Pepperoni

Very meaty.

There was almost as much pepperoni in this as there was pineapple in the Hawaiian version, so this was arguably the most gym bro-friendly out of the flavours we tried.

The exterior is the same as the other flavours.

Verdict: 7/10. It's like a zhng-ed version of pepperoni pizza.

Spicy Chicken Pop

First impression: SPICY — but this is coming from someone with a weak spice tolerance.

The spice level of this flavour is a 6/10. Spicy, but still can tahan without water.

The inside was lined with popcorn chicken, reminiscent of the ones you get from the school canteen.

Verdict: 6/10. Good, but not for me because I'm weak.

Cheesy Corn 'N' Shroom

This reminded me of corn cheese from Korean barbecue restaurants.

It had a mix of two cheeses and a strong nacho cheese taste.

Definitely for when you are craving a cheesy, savoury meal.

Verdict: 8/10. My personal favourite. The mix of the two cheeses made it less jelak, and the bits of sweet corn added a nice crunch to an otherwise gooey filling.

Last words

Not bad.

The Hut Melts aren't too bready, are convenient to bring around, and much easier to finish on your own, even when compared to a personal pan pizza.

In case you're wondering, two pieces are enough to fill your tummy — and our male colleagues agree.

For those who still aren't sure, you can also try the Hut Melts out for free. From now till Jun. 24, Pizza Hut will be giving away 10,000 free melts in the Hawaiian or Cheesy Corn 'N' Shroom flavour through their website and app.

Use the code "FREEHUTMELTS" with a minimum spending of S$15 to redeem.

Can go try.
