A BlueSG car skidded and crashed into a central divider railing along Punggol Road in Sengkang on Sunday night, May 28.

A 27-year-old man was arrested for suspected drink driving.

The incident occurred just outside Rivervale Plaza.

Traffic Police officers and a tow truck subsequently arrived at the junction.

The windscreen of the BlueSG car was cracked and its fender was seen on the road.

The accident brought down a traffic light and damaged the road divider.

Before the tow truck moved the BlueSG car, the vehicle was on top of the traffic light and railing.

The police said they were alerted to the accident at 10:22pm.

They said they believed the car self-skidded along Punggol Road at the junction of Compassvale Drive.

A police spokesperson said: "A 27-year-old male car driver was subsequently arrested for suspected drink driving."

Police investigations are ongoing.

The traffic light and divider were repaired by Tuesday, May 30.
