In a post shared by Derrick Tan, who is part of Voices For Animals, a volunteer-run group that rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes retired breeding dogs, Sirius was one of the veteran police dogs.

Tan had adopted Sirius from the Home Team, where the German Shepherd was previously trained to search for human remains and was involved in cracking cases during its time in active service.

Having served with pride and distinction, it was given the send-off it deserves.

Every year, the Home Team also regularly holds its own adoption drives as well, where various former security dogs and narcotic detector dogs are given a new leash of life.
