Amos Yee has disappeared: Real or fake?

Could be just trolling. Again.

An alarming Facebook post allegedly put up by Mary Toh, mother of wild child Amos Yee, claims that her son has not been seen in the past three months:

I have been too sad to speak up ever since Amos left for the past 3 months but I'm feeling more and more helpless now. ...

Posted by Mary Toh on Wednesday, 23 March 2016

However, there are a few suspicious signs that this person posting might not be Yee's mother.

1. This Mary Toh's Facebook page is too new

And not only is it new, it is so new that it almost looks as if the latest note was put up first and photos were subsequently added and backdated.

And Mary Toh has suddenly been listed as a public figure.

2. Amos Yee's mother has her own Facebook page

3. Amos's bank account number and PayPal details are listed in full

This could well be an attempt to get people to transfer money into these accounts.

What should you do:

It is not beneath Amos Yee to pretend to be his mother. He has done worse previously.

If the police cannot find him, it shouldn't be the public's duty to.

And with that headful of hair, he wouldn't be difficult to identify if and when he is really spotted.

Therefore, it is safe to ignore.
