Here's how oral hygiene was taught to S'pore kids in the 80s & 90s

Simple and effective.

Oral hygiene and education of the young on its importance have come a long way.

Here's something that is no longer used in school, but was vital to schoolchildren's oral hygiene practices of the 1980s and early 1990s.

In case you don't know what it is, the item is a plastic beaker/mug that was given to schoolchildren by their schools, together with a toothbrush.

After every recess time at school, children would use the beaker and toothbrush, and squat along their schools' longkangs (drains) to brush their teeth, under their teachers' supervision.

Well, if you have used that beaker and toothbrush before, it also means you're old and hopefully have good teeth.
